Cisco Meraki Licensing and Renewals
Meraki licensing depends on your organisation's licensing model and the exact product. Cisco documents subscription, co-term and legacy per-device licensing. Renewal, activation and compliance rules differ between these models.
Which licensing model does your organisation use?
Subscription licensing: check the applicable subscription, network, feature tier and term for your deployment.
Co-term licensing: existing organisations use a shared organisation expiry calculated from their claimed licences and device limits. Adding devices and renewing are different quoting needs.
Legacy per-device licensing: existing deployments require their own checks. This is not a generally available option for new Australian customers.

Choosing an edition: Enterprise suits core connectivity; Advanced Security adds threat protection; Secure SD-WAN Plus adds application and internet performance insight.
Hardware and firmware support vary. Separate Cisco integrations may require additional licences. This MX summary does not apply to MR, MS, Z or vMX.

What if you use subscription licensing?
MX subscription tiers are named Essential and Advantage. They have their own feature matrix: Essential includes threat protection, while Advantage adds advanced performance capabilities. Do not select a subscription tier by assuming it matches a co-term edition. Check Cisco's MX subscription comparison and confirm the exact licence for your organisation before ordering.

Before requesting a quote, confirm your current model in the Meraki dashboard and provide device models, quantities, desired term and whether you are renewing or expanding. We can prepare a quote for the proposed hardware and licences; compatibility and any licensing-model change must be confirmed before purchase.
Do not send dashboard passwords or licence keys. An organisation-wide expiry or grace-period explanation for co-term licensing should not be assumed to apply to subscription or per-device licensing.
